I love this saying from the late and great Dr. Wayne Dyer. It’s such a clear and simple way we can look at our own minds and habitual patterns. So often we project negative feelings, emotions, and judgments onto others. When we gossip and speak negatively of others we are actually just strengthening our own negative patterns, biases, and judgmental behaviors.
.
To any wise individual, we make ourselves look absolutely foolish speaking in this way. They can clearly see that it is us who is negative and judgmental etc. This is a great practice to always be very conscious of. Whenever we catch ourselves speaking negatively about someone, we must realize that we are actually just showing our own true colors, and are not actually speaking about the other person at all.
.
When we put people into boxes we limit them and turn them into something completely different than they actually are. We just see them through our own particular lens and not as they really are. I am constantly shocked by how often I do this. But the more we are conscious of it the more we begin to break the habitual patterns that run our lives!
